Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Why is this a good choice for me?
Cemetaries are running out of space and buying a lot (even for ashes) is very expensive.  Having your loved ones ashes placed in an urn on the mantel of the fireplace or a shelf is a wonderful way to keep them close but many people find that after a while, this just doesn't seem to work anymore.

Spreading ashes in the outdoors is also a wonderful option.  However, sometimes those who are left behind find this decision regretful as they cannot go and pay respects, or "visit" the loved one; that the remaining piece of their presence is completely gone.

Our stones are a wonderful compromise - your loved one remains "at home", on your property, in a beautiful garden setting where family can go and visit anytime they'd like.  It is a designated and a very special place for the lost loved one.

2.  Why would I put my loved one's ashes in the outdoors?
Many feel that having loved one's ashes in a memorial stone, in a garden, symbolizes a time of transformation....return to the earth.  Others do not know where to keep the ashes inside the home so the garden presents them with another beautiful alternative.

3.  Can the stone be relocated if I move?
Absolutely.  The sizes vary from 100-350 lbs.  The lighter stones (100 lbs) can be moved on your own, the heavier stones (over 300 lbs) require two or three men.

4.  Will the container hold all the cremated remains?
The container is of sufficient capacity to hold the full volume of cremated remains.  The containers are customized and designed by us to ensure appropriate capacity.

5.  Are the cremated remains secure?
As well as secure, the container is 100% waterproof, and is made from stainless steel. The stone is permanently sealed and cannot be unsealed.

6.  How  is the container with the ashes placed into the stone?
The container is inserted into an opening in the stone and then invisibly sealed. The opening is created by our company specifically for the container. We have variety of containers depending on you needs and budget.

7. How do I know that it is the ashes of my loved one inside the stone?
We deliver the stone to your home and assist with insertion of the container with your loved one's ashes into the stone.  Then we seal the stone.  This is all done in your presence.

8. Can I have the container engraved?
Yes, it can be engraved before we deliver it.  Simply provide us with all the information that you'd like engraved when ordering a memorial stone.

9.  Can I have a plaque on the outside of the stone?
Yes, although there may be some limitations depending on the type of the stone.  This should be discussed with us before ordering a stone.

10.  What kind of a return policy do you have?
You can return the memorial stone only before the container with the ashes is placed into the stone.

11.  How many days before I receive my stone?
Once your order is placed, please allow minimum 14 days for delivery, with special orders, this may take up to 4 weeks.

12.  Is this legal?
Yes, it is legal to keep cremated remains on your property, regardless of the type of container you choose.

13.  I see that you sell memorial stones for pets.  I have remains of a beloved horse but the volume is so much bigger than your average cat or a dog...
The size of the container that we provide is based entirely on the volume of the ashes that you have.  In case of a horse, the volume is too large and the stone that would be required would weigh over a 1000 lbs.  We would recommend partial ashes be inserted into the container and then into the memorial stone.

14.  I have a cottage in a small town outside of Lower Mainland and would like to have the stone delivered to this property.  Do you still deliver or are there extra costs?
This will depend on the location.  We deliver in Lower Mainland and parts of Interior BC.  Delivery to some areas may require additional charges.  Keep in mind that we need a paved road to deliver the stones as they may weigh up to 300 lbs.
